Featured Wines — December 2008 — Wine & Words Holiday Wine Sale

Glass of Sparkly

Less Words; More Wine

This month our Featured Wines are taking the form of a Holiday Wine Sale. We've put together a list of some of our best wines, wines that will make great holiday gifts or stunning accompaniments to a holiday get-together. We're offering a 20% discount on all of these wines...until they're gone.

We've only got a few bottles of some of these beauties, and they're not all available at both stores. So if you see something on the list you really want, give us a call and we'll put it aside for you.

All through the month, we'll be sampling a few of these, as well as some longtime favorites every weekend at both stores. And on Friday December 12 at Wine & Words/The Back Bay Cafe we'll be having our annual holiday celebration/wine tasting/customer appreciation night. I'll open some great wines for you, and Chef Yvonne will be cooking up some unadvertised treats. You'll want to gather a group and make reservations for this one.

Price listed is Regular Price followed by 20% Discount. Limited Supply. Not all wines available at both stores.

  • Coastal Vines (Cabernet, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay) $6.99/bottle, $75.50/case
  • Front Porch (Merlot, Chardonnay) $8/bottle, $86.40/case
  • Simonet Blanc des Blancs sparkler $9.98/bottle, $107.79/case
  • Cielo Pinot Grigio $8.85/bottle, - $95.58/case

If you want case lots of anything, give us a week’s notice. Some of our distributors deliver on Wednesday, others on Friday, so if you give us a week we can tell you when your wine will be ready.

Party Hints:

  • A case of wine will give you approximately 48 glasses
  • Caterers often serve only white wine. Saves stains on the carpet and tablecloth.
  • Our wineglass name cards save on glassware. Sometimes people forget what their wineglass charm was. If they forget their name…it’s time to go home!

Tasting Opportunities…All through the month, we'll be sampling a few of these, as well as some longtime favorites every weekend at both stores.
