I'm not fibbing!

A “fib” is a small lie, and I’m not doing that. But what my headline refers to is Atrial Fibrillation, a heart rhythm disease that affects over 5 million people in the U.S....including The Wine Guy. I just had an episode that was stopped by electrical cardioversion done by Dr. David Frazier and the brilliant folks at the East Carolina Heart Institute. No, it doesn’t have anything to do with wine, food or books (though I’m glad to say my daily wine intake is not affected by the meds I’m taking); but with so many people affected by this condition I thought you might want to know that September is “National A Fib Month.” If you’d like to know more, I’ve found a very informative and approachable website, maintained by and for A Fib patients. It’s at StopAfib.org. Check it out.
