Holiday Wines & Celebrations

Sparkly Toast

This month our Featured Wines are taking the form of a Holiday Wine Sale. We've put together a list of some of our best wines, wines that will make great holiday gifts or stunning accompaniments to a holiday get-together. We're offering a 20% discount on all of these wines...until they're gone.

We've only got a few bottles of some of these beauties, and they're not all available at both stores. So if you see something on the list you really want, give us a call and we'll put it aside for you.

All through the month, we'll be sampling a few of these, as well as some longtime favorites every weekend at both stores. And on Friday December 12 at Wine & Words/The Back Bay Cafe we'll be having our annual holiday celebration/wine tasting/customer appreciation night. I'll open some great wines for you, and Chef Yvonne will be cooking up some unadvertised treats. You'll want to gather a group and make reservations for this one.

We're also offering 20% off 375 ml 1/2 bottles for gift baskets. These are great wines that, with the discount and small size, allow you to give two bottles as a wonderful gift. No charge for the basket and wrapping. Just let us know what you want in each basket and we'll do the rest.

Finally, we've got some suggestions of less expensive wines that you can buy by the case if you're having a crowd. One of the ways we're dealing with the economic downturn is by doing "just in time" buying rather than "stocking up" so we remind you that if you want wines in lots of a case or more, please give us a week to get enough stock for you.

But there's more. All during December, instead of the usual 10% discount on any case (12 bottles) of wine, we're offering 15% off a full case and 10% off any 6 bottles. We're doing our part to make the Wine & Words stores your one-stop shop for holiday gifts and occasions. And you'll help us make some slots for new wines as we re-evaluate our entire list for the new year. Everybody wines (I mean wins).

That's all for today. Tomorrow I'll tell you about this weekend's Washington holiday extravaganza.
